Cerro Catedral: The Heart
of Patagonian Skiing

Experience South America's largest ski resort, offering 1,200 hectares of diverse alpine terrain and stunning lakeside views of Nahuel Huapi.

Highlights

  • The perfect stop before heading to Baguales or ski touring
  • Panoramic views of Nahuel Huapi Lake and the Andes
  • Expansive alpine bowls and protected Lenga forests
  • Vibrant base village

The largest ski area in the Southern Hemisphere — 1,200 hectares.

34 lifts connecting the full ski area.

Base at 1,030m, summit at 2,180m — 1,150m vertical drop.

120km of marked runs for all ability levels.

Stay slopeside at Pire Hue or lakeside at Llao Llao.

19 km from downtown San Carlos de Bariloche.

Every detail
considered.

Nestled in Nahuel Huapi National Park, Cerro Catedral is the largest ski center in the Southern Hemisphere. With a colossal footprint of exactly 1,200 hectares, it is essentially a "tale of two mountains" — split evenly between groomed slopes and freeride zones.

When designing your stay, you can choose to maximize your time on the snow at the slopeside Villa Catedral, or enjoy the vibrant lakeside city of Bariloche — we will coordinate your daily transfers either way.

Because of its scale and variety, Catedral is the ultimate environment to warm up your legs and test your gear before heading deep into the Patagonian backcountry for ski touring or remote lodge experiences.

A tale of
two mountains.

Backcountry Access

Beyond the marked trails lies a massive unpatrolled freeride playground. Accessible areas like La Laguna and Alaskita offer thrilling descents, technical chutes and wide-open bowls, while the lower Lenga forests provide world-class, wind-protected tree skiing during storm days.

Because these lift-accessible zones are unpatrolled, hiring AAGM or UIAGM-certified mountain guides is highly recommended to safely navigate the complex Patagonian topography.

Where to Stay.

We hand-select your accommodation to perfectly complement your time on the mountain — from slopeside convenience to lakeside grandeur.
