Argentina's Route of the Seven Lakes (Ruta de los Siete Lagos) is world-renowned as a summer road trip, but in winter, it transforms into a snow-dusted corridor connecting several ski destinations in the Southern Hemisphere. This 10-day itinerary takes you through the heart of northern Patagonia, combining the massive terrain of Bariloche, the boutique charm of Villa La Angostura, and the family-friendly alpine vibes of San Martín de los Andes.

Days 1–4: Bariloche — The Gateway to Patagonia
Start your journey in San Carlos de Bariloche, the "Chocolate Capital." You'll base yourself here for the first four days to tackle Cerro Catedral, the largest ski center in South America. With over 120km of slopes, you can spend days exploring the "Nubes" sector for steep terrain or the lower forests for sheltered runs.
Day 5: The Drive — Crossing the Seven Lakes
Wake up and begin the scenic trek toward Villa La Angostura. The 80km drive is short, allowing for a half-day of relaxation or a visit to the Arrayanes Forest.
Days 6–7: Villa La Angostura — Boutique Powder
Cerro Bayo is often called a "boutique" resort — smaller than Catedral but offering some of the most stunning "ski-to-lake" views in the world. Known for its uncrowded slopes and excellent off-piste terrain. Spend your evenings by a fireplace enjoying Patagonian lamb.
Days 8–10: San Martín de los Andes — The Grand Finale
From Villa La Angostura, continue north along Route 40. Cerro Chapelco is a local favorite, famous for its ancient Lenga forests. San Martín is arguably the most beautiful of the three towns — low-slung architecture, no high-rises, and a peaceful lakeside setting.
